Welcome to Women Intervening in Girl's Struggles (W.I.G.S.), a transformative program within Doing Something About It Inc. Our mission is to support women, young women, female teens, and girls in navigating their daily emotional challenges. At W.I.G.S., our members are resilient female role models, each bringing unique experiences, wisdom, and personal growth to the table. Together, we're dedicated to fostering mentorship and empowerment, ensuring that our young ladies reach their full potential as successful women. Through meetings, events, workshops, and retreats, we provide a supportive space for sharing experiences, engaging in group discussions, and creating lasting connections. Our Chat-n-Chew events offer networking opportunities and insightful conversations on pressing issues such as sex trafficking, inadequate healthcare, and gender-based violence. Recently, we launched our inaugural talk show segment, "Sista to Sister, Sister to Assist Her," where a panel of five women share their expertise and advice on public-generated questions. We're committed to amplifying struggling voices and effecting positive change, inviting other organizations and women's groups to join us in this collective effort. Together, we can empower and uplift young females, one step at a time.
We want to thank all the ladies who attended our WIGS (Women Intervening in Girls' Struggles) Breast Cancer Awareness event, and painting with a twist this Saturday, October 12th, at the South Country Library.
Dr. Alexea Gaffney delivered an informative and educational talk that inspired our young attendees, as well as those who are older, to remain consistent with breast exams, along with health and wellness practices. We hope that many women view these events as important opportunities to educate themselves on how to reduce the statistics of breast cancer patients who have died due to late detection. Become a survivor!

"Footprints" by Mary Stevenson is a humbling poem about realizing you're not alone during difficult times. W.I.G.S. is here to remind you that you are not alone, but it all begins with that first step. When you recognize the need for support or hear repeated messages aimed at improving your situation, it's essential to say, "Being proactive starts with me," and take the opportunity to reach out to W.I.G.S.
At times, finding someone to confide in can be challenging. With alarming statistics, such as over 14 million girls aged 15-19 giving birth annually, W.I.G.S. offers open ears and hearts. Tragically, more girls in this age group die from childbirth-related health risks than any other cause. Whatever your situation, we're here to listen and support you.
We don't speak without experience or understanding; some of us have endured significant challenges. Yet, through our own journeys, we've found hope, striving to improve, support, and empathize genuinely. We're here to help you feel and love yourself better.
If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask us through our contact page. To assist others, we'll anonymously share some common queries. If you're interested in joining WIGS, please reach out to us. Every young female deserves a chance. This is where our village begins. This is how we foster economic and social empowerment. This is...
